Hydration: The Ultimate Beauty Hack

K-pop idols are rarely seen without a water bottle. It's not just for thirst, proper hydration plumps skin from within, reduces the appearance of fine lines, helps clear breakouts, and boosts energy. Dehydrated skin looks dull, feels tight, and shows wrinkles more prominently.

How Much Water Do You Actually Need?

The "8 glasses a day" rule is a good starting point, but your needs depend on activity level, climate, and diet. A better gauge: your urine should be pale yellow (not clear, that's overhydration, not dark, that's dehydration). Idols aim for 2-3 liters spread throughout the day, starting with a glass of room-temperature water first thing in the morning.

Tip Room-temperature water is preferred in Korea, ice water is believed to shock the system and slow digestion.

Hydrating Foods

About 20% of your hydration comes from food. Korean cuisine includes many hydrating staples: cucumber, lettuce, watermelon, and radish. Seaweed soup (miyeok-guk) is a hydration and mineral powerhouse. Green tea counts toward hydration AND provides antioxidants.

Tip Eat water-rich foods at every meal. Cucumber is 96% water and packed with skin-loving silica.
